Thank you for testing!

So the Dragon's Myth server is official down for good. At least for a while. Yes we know a lot of people continue to play on the server, and we have recieved a number of awesome suggestions! So what next? Well Dragon's Myth will continue to be developed, and at some point we will release a Dragon's Myth beta. This will probably not be for quite some time.

So what was the point of this short 'test'? Well mainly to get a feel for the game engine, aswell as test our the server capacities and various possibilities we can do with the game.

For more information about our future endeavours and our current projects, please see the news post on the main SBG site.

Server sided patch 1.002

The game server went down recently for a couple minutes so we could add in the latest server sided patch! So what's the latest changes? Well lets wind the tapes back a day or two. We had some pretty epic battles agreed? That is, until the spawned army would suddenly vanish without warning. One minute there are 500 orcs on screen, the next there are none. With this new patch, the army will not 'de-spawn'. Things have also been randomized some more. The army will jump through the portal at random times throughout the week. The amount of troops will also be random. That's right! Sometimes you may see a mere 100 orcs, all the way up to 1000 orcs! No joke! We have tested running 1000 orcs on screen and to our amazement there is no frame drop and no lag. Truly remarkable!

What happens if there are not enough people playing during the time 1000 orcs spawn to defend the city? Don't worry we have thought about that aswell! The game will spawn a random amount but also taking into account the amount of players in-game. You won't see 1000 orcs if there < 300 players in game.

So what happens if the game is full of noobs and the town get's taken over by the orcs? What then? Well obviously the town would be destroyed and it would be recommended you stay away from it. Unless you are planning a siege with some friends to take back the fortress that is. If all hope is lost, there are a few 'special' players with some special abilities (aka GM's) that can restore order with a snap of a finger! Everything can be reset, orcs can instantly die, etc if need be.

Got questions? Comments? Suggestions? Complaints? Etc? You can either contact us by email -> support@stormbladegames.com , or you let us know via the Live Help on the main SBG page! Enjoy and see you in-game!

The world is no longer safe

You couldn't of possibly thought the lands would be safe, could you? You must of known there is more than just Striffs, Spiders, and Guards. Well wipe those happy thoughts from your mind now! Times are dark, and the world is being raided by a massive army (500 troops to be exact). Check out this picture of the army marching through a portal. One man attempted to save the town from being over run, but failed.

This massive army will appear at random times throughout the day/week. If you happen to be in-game during the time that they emerge, an announcment will be made in-game and you will witness a massive battle, and partake in it if you wish. This new addition has already been added to the game! There is no need to download a new patch.

More information to come soon!

In-Game event's - Details!

Here are some details on upcoming events in Dragon's Myth. The dates are TBA, but you can expect the first event to happen within 2 weeks time.

City Siege

Players cooperatively battle their way into a heavily guarded fortress, with the ultimate goal of destroying it.

City Siege (PVP)

Same as the regular City Seige mode, execpt this time instead of fighting NPCs, it's a full PvP match. Defenders have the ability to use special weapons aswell as other special abilities. Attackers also have special unique weapons at their disposal.

Annilation (PVP)

A massive PvP(vP) match. Mulitple teams fight to the death. Last team standing wins. Simple as that. Depending on the amount of participants in the event, there may be as little as 2 teams, up to over 5 teams.

Ripper Races (PVP)

Pretty straight forward. Hundereds of players race to the finish.

Sabatoge (PVP)

2 fortresses. 1 explosive. 2 teams each with their own fortress race to grab, and plant an explosive in the opposing teams fortress.

More information will be posted soon. Most of these game modes will take place on different maps than the public map.

Server online!

The Dragon's Myth server is now online! Feel free to send us any feedback and suggestions you may have! With the new patch, we are also going to be starting in-game 'events'. For example, one event, "Annilation" which is a massive PvP war, in which players will be split into teams and wage war amongst each other. Last team standing wins. Another example would be City Siege mode. Players will cooperatively battle their way into a heavily guarded fortress, in an unlikely attempt to destroy the city. If players managed to accomplish this, you would recieve awesome new in-game items, along with other things.

So when do these events start? Well no time or date has been specifically set, but you could expect the first event to happen within 2 weeks!

We have also added a live server monitor to this page, aswell as the main SBG site. It will tell you in realtime if the server is online or not. More details will be posted soon! Enjoy!

DM 1.1 Patch info

So we managed to work around our broken hardware problem, and successfully put together all the needed files for the 1.1 patch. The new patch install file will be released tomorrow April 22, but the server will only go live on April 23. That will give everyone some time to download and install the latest version so everyone can be ready when the server goes live. From now till Friday the server will be OFFLINE, so go ahead and uninstall version 1.0.

Here is a short list of fixes and improvments in 1.1 ...

- Fixed flying glitch (Hold down space key)
- Menu/Character screens altered
- Can see your character on Selection screen
- Removed LAN browser
- Removed OFFLINE mode
- Added an auto connect to our server. No longer need to select it.
- Guards fight back.
- Map modifications (more stuff)

Update 1.11 will be a massive update. It will include new enemies, music, weapons, etc. Version 1.1 is mainly a technical patch.

Patch delayed .. Indefinitely?

Well okay, the patch isn't delayed forever. But due to some recent hardware failure, we are unable to compile the latest build for the Dragon's Myth client. When we manage to fix the hardware, we will let you guys know and the patch will be released shortly after. So the patch will NOT be out this coming Thursday (April 22).

Sorry for the delays.

Patch coming early!

The new DM 1.1 patch will be coming out on April 22, 2010 now instead of May 5. What's the catch? Well the patch is going to be split up a bit. On April 22, 2010, the following fixed/enhancments will be added ..

- Fixed flying glitch (Hold down space key)
- Added sword/melee combat (Possibly)
- Menu/Character screens altered (Possibly)
- Can see your character on Selection screen
- Removed LAN browser
- Removed OFFLINE mode
- Added an auto connect to our server. No longer need to select it.
- Enemies fight back.
- More items/enemies/npcs (Possibly)
- Map modifications (more stuff)
- Music (Possibly)
- Sound effects (Possibly)

The things marked 'Possibly" may or may not make it into the 1.1 patch. If they don't quite make it into the 1.1 patch, they will be in the 1.11 patch. The 1.11 patch will come out shortly after, with questing, more npc/enemies, and tons of other stuff.

Dragon's Myth site! Looks good eh?

Welcome to the Dragon's Myth site! Doesn't it look good? So what's the point in seperating Dragon's Myth from the main SBG site? Well Dragon's Myth is going to be quite a bit larger than our previous games. Another thing is that Dragon's Myth is still in the process of being developed. It's not a fully finished product. This way we can also put Dragon's Myth 'specific' news here. Instead of putting all news on one site.

On this site you will be able to access things like this public development blog, Dragon's Myth story/lore, media, etc. At some point we will be adding 'comments' to the blog posts. So you guys can share your thoughts.

So what's in store for Dragon's Myth over the next couple weeks? Well by May 5, 2010 we will be releasing our first patch which will fix a number of bugs and glitches. It will also include a number of new enemies, NPCS, etc. A massive upgrade from it's current state.

Right now only this blog is working, but in the next couple days the other links should work aswell! Here is a list of fixes and improvments in the upcoming patch.

- Fixed flying glitch (Hold down space key)
- Added sword/melee combat
- Menu/Character screens altered
- Can see your character on Selection screen
- Removed LAN browser
- Removed OFFLINE mode
- Added an auto connect to our server. No longer need to select it.
- Enemies fight back.
- Questing/Story.
- More items/enemies/npcs
- More maps
- Modified HUD
- Music
- Sound effects

You can download the client (DragonsMyth_1.0.exe) via the main SBG site under "Games". The client will soon become available on this site in the next couple days.
